This extremely clean 1996 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT is for sale in our
Louisville KY showroom. The Cobra as it is known, was a Mustang
built by the SVT division of Ford Motor Company. 1996 would see the
aging 5.0 engine retire with the all-aluminum 4.6 DOHC unit that
was more efficient and smoother revving than the outdated 5.0. The
4.6 in the Cobra is a little different than just a GT engine. Hand
assembled by a two-person team and verified by a signed label. This
96 has had lived a pampered life and with a little over 71000 miles
it has always been well taken care of. The paint is in unbelievable
condition given the fact its 21 years old. Those classic Cobra
wheels really compliment the lines of the car and complete that all
stock look. The engine was rated at 305HP from the factory but this
4.6 has had some bolt ons giving it quite a bit more. The first and
easiest of the bunch is the cold air intake kit which is probably
the most used bolt on. A set of long tube headers add to those
numbers but the sound is going to be the biggest difference.
Flowing through a true dual exhaust with an X-pipe to balance them
out giving the car that awesome low-end rumble. Of course, with
these cars being electronically controlled a chip custom tuned for
the mods has also been added giving this 4.6 the right amount of
fuel at all RPM's. A short throw shifter was added as well making
the shifts precise while cutting down on the length of the throw.
The 4.10 gears were the other addition and it really woke this car
up on the bottom end but with the 5-speed transmission cruising
down the highway at 75 is still done with ease. The black leather
interior is in good condition with no rips or tears remarkable for
a 21 year old car. If you have been wanting to get one of these new
