The Model -Just five years after the release of the very successful
550-Maranello, Ferrari brought out the 575M in 2002. As with its
predecessor, it was a grand tourer that was brilliantly executed
and ideal for an extended trip with plenty of room for the driver
plus passenger and plenty of storage space in the luggage
compartment, or if needed on the rear package tray. Beckoning back
to Ferrari's roots the 575M was powered by a twelve-cylinder engine
placed up front with drive wheels to the rear, which had been
inherited from the 550M. For the 575M, vehicle dynamics were
refined with every detail on the underbody dedicated to down-force,
and for the first time, the F1 style paddle shifting for the
six-speed automatic. Redesigned air-intakes up front contributed to
better fluid-dynamic effectiveness including a new front spoiler,
all helping to keep the 575M glued to the ground at high speed.
Little things such as the Xenon headlights being standard
equipment. When test as a new car, 0-to-60 times were in the 4.3
second range, and passenger comfort was paramount in the design
with ease of entry and exit. One of the 575M's high points is the
excellent air-conditioning system which can keep even the hottest
drivers cool, calm and collected.
The Car - This spectacular example of the 575M-F1 Maranello coupe
left the factory in Blu Pozzi and features a stunning leather
interior done in red including the headliner, with the dash and
door panels accented with black and brushed aluminum trim accents.
Reported to be on of a very limited number of 575M's shipped to the
USA in this color and trim combination, it is in immaculate
condition showing just over 10,200 original miles. Under the hood
and on the chassis, the proper red accents are found in the engine
compartment as well as on the unique disc brake calipers. Luxury
appointments abound on this well-maintained example. It features
functioning air-conditioning with the factory alloy wheels riding
on Pirelli P-Zero tires. If the sounds coming from the fabulous
engine aren't melodic enough for you, there is the factory stereo
system with six speakers placed for acoustic perfection and both
front fenders carry the bright yellow Scuderia Ferrari badges.
Recently treated to a full service including water pumps, fluids,
belts and PPI inspection. Turn-key, ready to enjoy, ready to become
a legend with you at the wheel, this is a rare opportunity for
greatness.
