Up for sale in our Detroit Showroom is a 1964 Dodge Gasser! A
gasser is a type of hot rod originating on the dragstrips all
around the United States in the late 1950s and continued until the
early 1970s. In the days before Pro Stock, the A/Gas cars were the
fastest stock-appearing racers around. Gassers are based on closed
body production models from the 1930s to mid-1960s, which have been
stripped of extraneous weight and jacked up using a beam axle or
tubular axle to provide better weight distribution on acceleration
though a raised stock front suspension is common as well. This
Gasser hasn't had much weight reduction done because the 528 Hemi
paired to the 727 Torque-Flight Transmission pull their weight just
fine. This dominant duo has less than 3,000 miles on the build and
can rip pavement apart with one stab of the gas pedal. From a dead
stop, the 8 rear end with a 4:10 gear launch you forward like
every strip of pavement is a dragstrip. The paint on this Gasser
looks amazing and is called Hot Hughes Blazing Copper. The interior
is a very clean and factory looking Onyx Black vinyl with a B&M
shifter that provides great comfort while manning this machine. If
you have always wanted that attention grabbing ride that has left
its footprint in automotive history, you need to drive a Gasser.
There is no feeling that can compare to the thrill ride of moving a
528 cubic inch monster through the streets. For more information
