Vehicle Description
The third generation C3 Corvette, patterned after the Mako II
concept car, was introduced for the 1968 model year and remained in
production through 1982. C3 coupes feature the first use of T-Tops.
This very fine example celebrates Corvettes 25th year in production
with the eye-catching silver and black Silver Anniversary paint
scheme. C3 engine and chassis components were mostly carried over
from the C2 and provide a firm but not harsh ride with good
handling characteristics. The body and interior were all new and
the sharp, aggressive styling make the C3 one of the most
sought-after classic Corvettes. The 350-cubic inch engine in this
vehicle is a crate motor mounting a 650 CFM Holley four-barrel and
fitted with smooth-flowing exhaust headers. This is a
strong-running, powerful engine providing ample motive power with
an authoritative exhaust note. A three-speed automatic transmits
power to the rear wheels. The aftermarket wheels mount Goodrich TA
Radial tires in great condition and compliment the C3 Corvettes
assertive styling. Total Silver Anniversary production for 1978 was
15,283. Compare this to 1978 Chevrolet Impala production of 290,774
and you can readily see why there are few of these Corvettes still
on the road today. This is your opportunity to own a rare,
eye-catching 1978 C3 Corvette at a very reasonable price!
