Vehicle Description
In 2006, Ford and Carroll Shelby entered into a new agreement. For
2007, the Mustang being developed by the Special Vehicle Team would
become the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500. It would be based on the all new
S197 Mustang platform powered by a special supercharged 5.4 liter
V-8 that made over 500 HP and an instant classic was born.
This auction vehicle is a fully documented example and includes
build sheet, certificate of authenticity, plaque with the
signatures of the workers who built it and Carol Shelby's signature
right in the middle of the dash. It is vehicle number 24 out of
8,152 coupes and the fourth painted Vista Blue out of 1,054. It is
also one of only nine that is without stripes.
