Vehicle Description
Outstanding condition 1966 Chevelle Malibu. Very solid car from top
to bottom. Beautiful "off white" paint with steel grey SS hood
inserts. New 15" Rally rims with trim rings and caps, painted steel
grey with new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, 245/60 in the rear and
205/60 in the front. Bumpers, grill, tailight bezels, etc and all
trim is either new or in excellent shape. Windshield and side glass
is all excellent, back glass is good but does have a few scratches.
This car is a true eye catcher from the outside. On the inside is
an all black bucket seat interior with a floor shift console. I
would say the interior is a 9.5 on a 10 scale. Dash is excellent,
new head liner, original console has been restored, seats, door
panels and carpet are very nice. There is a custom gauge cluster
mounted right above the console, and a vintage air system
professionally installed that blows nice cold air. There is an
am/fm stereo cassette player with 6x9 speakers mounted on the rear
deck. All new weatherstripping. The trunk was restored with a new
pan put in many years ago when it was first restored in the 90s
that is still very solid. I repainted it with the splatter paint
and made a custom heavy rubber/plastic diamond plate trunk mat that
keeps whatever you put in it from sliding around. There is a spare
tire mounted in the trunk. The engine compartment always gets
compliments as it is done with all the correct Eastwood paints and
is very clean. The motor is the original 283 that has been warmed
over nicely. An aluminum Holley manifold and 4 barrel carb, new
Sanderson headers and new Flowmaster exhaust make for a great
running and sounding car. The original powerglide has been swapped
out for a turbo 350 with shift kit. This car runs fantastic and
always runs cool, no overheating. The car has been lowered with a
spring and shock kit and has a great stance. Power steering and
power brakes, disc up front, drums in the rear. I have a lot of the
paperwork from the guy I bought it from a few years ago. The car
was nice when I got it but was ready for new paint (needed no body
work), the interior was in need of a tune up, new wheels and tires,
sat to high for me so I lowered it, and tuned up the engine and
trunk areas. Otherwise it was just a good solid car. Frame and
floors are solid and undercoated. The only two items that do not
work are the console mounted clock and the speedometer. The mileage
shows 115,400. The reason it doesnt work is because when the turbo
350 was added, the shifter linkage is in the way of the speedo
cable plugging into the transmission. I assume there is some type
of cable available but I never pursued looking into it. Otherwise,
everything else works on this car. It is a great driver that really
shows well. I finished the restoration this past spring and have
only put about 1000 miles on it since so it is virtually new from
that standpoint. My next project is ready to start so something has
to go. My loss is your gain - take it and start cruising and having
a good time with a finished car that will have you the envy of all
your hot rod buddies! YouTube video at:
