Vehicle Description
This Jaguar S-Type was first registered on 16th March 1964, making
this an early example of the model that was manufactured from
September 1963, until, the arrival of the Jaguar XJ6 in, 1968.
Originally powered by the 3.4 litre XK unit, the S-Type now boasts
the larger 4.2 litre unit with power steering and is mated to a
Jaguar 5-speed gearbox. This S-Type also benefits from an enlarged
alloy radiator, Kenlow fan (with manual over-ride), six-branch
stainless steel exhaust system, lightweight high torque starter
motor, Gaz adjustable shock absorbers and halogen headlights. The
braking system has been rebuilt and modified with, the highly
regarded, Cooper Craft calipers, a modification that certainly
improves the stopping power. This example is presented with the
attractive combination of Old English White coachwork, complemented
by the chrome wire wheels, and contrasting red leather interior. A
large file includes invoices, old MoT certificates, photographs of
an older restoration and an original Jaguar Spare Parts Catalogue.
The vendor acquired this UK registered, righthand drive Jaguar
S-Type, in March 2014 and advises that it will arrive at the sale
with a fresh MoT test certificate. This is a nicely developed motor
car that drives, stops and handles well; a combination that makes
for a fast classic Jaguar Saloon, suited for today's roads and
ready for a lucky new owner to enjoy, especially as it is offered
with a sensible and tempting estimate. For sale by auction on
