Vehicle Description
Considered by the majority of experts to be the most influential
car of all time, it's hard to overestimate the impact the Model T
had on both the automotive industry and the car buying public. In
fact, it's the first car aimed at a PUBLIC of any kind, built to
cater to an emerging middle class that was, for the first time
ever, anxious and able to get behind the wheel and explore their
surroundings. This faithful recreation of the 1924 Model T Sedan is
a rolling homage to that unique time in American manufacturing
history - but with modern components that will make your motoring
experience a lot more fun!
From the ramrod straight, vertical windshield, the flowing front
fenders that give way to side running boards before meeting up with
the rear fenders . . . even down to the vents on the folding hood,
you'll notice a lot of faithfully recreated details on this Model
T. The signature wood-spoked, wagonesque wheels of the original,
with their enormous diameter, have been replaced with counterparts
of a more modern diameter and design and, by virtue of the top of
the line TCI Chassis, this car sits lower and with a
road-worthiness unattainable in its precursor. With dropped
spindles up front, it has an appealing incline to its road-hugging
stance. Henry Ford himself was known to extol the virtues of his
creation's black exterior but he likely wouldn't have been able to
keep himself from doing an appreciative double-take had this
recreation, with its shiny red exterior, appeared before him. The
bow-shaped chrome over the radiator grille, the tall emblem
standing on top of it and the grille itself remain in fine
condition, as well.
Inside you'll see a great tan leather interior with a lot of nice
details. The craftsmanship put into its creation is obvious at
first view. The front bucket seats and rear bench seat look new,
with no sign of wear across their surfaces and stitching. On either
side of you, as well as directly above, you'll see door panels and
a headliner reflecting that same condition. The matching tan
carpeting below rises up to meet the steel dash painted to match
the exterior. You'll see an intriguing mixture of vintage
aesthetics with modern technology as you look forward at the dash,
such as the period-correct steering column that's holding a solid
wood wheel which cleverly integrates the gear selection into the
right side lever. Classic Instruments modern gauges monitor speed,
oil pressure, gas level and water temperature and have a vintage
look to their white faces very much in keeping with the nature of
this evocative car. To the right sits an AM/FM/cassette stereo and
below the seats you'll find a modern A/C system that's in optimal
form.
The drivetrain on this Model T, has a capability exponentially
better than the Inline 4, with its 20 horsepower powering the
original. Life moved at a much slower pace nearly a century ago
than it does today, but with the Ford small block 289, coupled with
a C4 3 speed automatic transmission, there's no doubt you'll be
more than able to keep up. The engine fires right up, idles
smoothly and is ready to hit the road. With the Jaguar rear end
that features double coilovers and disc brakes, you'll find that
road plenty smooth and navigable. This unique vehicle sits on a set
of 15" Ford spoked rims, complete with logoed centers, wrapped in
Sumitomo radials.
