For Sale: 1965 Buick Electra Custom Convertible in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

The 1965 Electra 225 Custom Convertible was the most expensive car in the Buick lineup. So when you can find a loaded example that looks this amazing and still has its original Wildcat V8, you'd expect to pay a lot more, right?

Buick was at the top of their styling game in 1965, and this top-dog droptop proves it perfectly. Sharp creases blend with curvaceous fenders to create of the most seductive cruisers of the era. We love how the distinctive front and rear styling is punctuated with impressive center points. Plus, not only did the bumpers follow this unique design, but also the side trim artfully connects with these wraparound units and runs along the profile (including the fender skirts) to create one cohesive perimeter. You couldn't see that today if there had not been decades of care that has going into this convertible. In fact, the factory-correct Arctic White paint has a nice shine thanks to a professional respray and careful maintenance ever since. Even the convertible top is a pristine white to almost look like a hardtop when in place. And as you look over every inch, don't forget to enjoy the details. The portholes are iconic; the bright wheel covers still look amazing a half-century later; and the rear tail panel has an artful style that designers wouldn't dare replicate today.

The Electra 225 Custom Convertible was even more expensive than the Riviera, and Buick gave it all the right premium touches. So with the top down, the black interior gives this premium Buick the same appeal as fine dining in a dinner jacket. And this presentation is deep, dark, and complete, right down to the convertible boot cover. But this is far from a sea of darkness. The top of the dash has a great wood paneling strip. This combines with the brightwork that frames everything from the original AM radio to the sporty dual pod gauges. This was Buick's full-size offering so there's plenty of room for you to share top-down motoring with up to five family and friends. But for those days you just feel like independent cruising, the fold-down armrest gives you personal luxury. And speaking of comfort, you get rare features like the power seat. Plus, with the power windows and power convertible top, you never have to leave the driver's seat to go from enclosed luxury to a wind-in-your-hair experience.

As the ultimate Buick, this one has its numbers-matching Wildcat 445 V8. It looks as fantastically original as the rest of the car with the Wildcat air topper and bright blue block paint radiating power from within the dark engine bay. It shows all the right signs of maintenance, and the way it purrs lets you know its care has been more than appearance. Named after its torque rating, this 401 cubic-inch V8 combines with the four-barrel carburetor to keep this premium droptop running in the sporty and sophisticated crowd. The same goes for the dual exhaust that has a throaty rumble, but never loses composure. Add in a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and Buick's legendary ride, and you've got the perfect all-day cruiser.

With only 8,508 examples built over a half-century ago, this Electra 225 Custom convertible is a rare and premium treat at quite an affordable price. So don't let it slip away. Call today!!!
