Vehicle Description
You're looking at the best of everything you want. Not only has
this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro been restored in its original and rare
color, but it also comes with the best Z/28 features like the
four-speed and MO-code 302 V8. So it's truly the beautiful and
speedy icon of your dreams.
The factory-correct code-N Cordovan Maroon looks terrific thanks to
a serious investment during this car's full rotisserie restoration
in 2012. And it's sure to catch your eye because they made sure the
bodywork was a terrific canvas to apply the paint. But this all
makes perfect sense, because it's a rare treat with less than 4% of
'68 Camaros receiving this color. We love a good maroon because it
has the allure or red, but in a much more sophisticated tone. But
while the color says high society, the rest of the body is out to
be a true brute. The hidden headlights and blacked-out grille of
the Rally Sport is an iconic symbol of the muscle car era. Plus,
the cowl induction hood, front air dam, and full-width spoiler add
to this aggressive appearance. And since the consignor believes
this could be a true Z car, we also love the correct elements like
the larger 15-inch Rally wheel package, and the correct dual racing
stripes that always get these noticed.
More investment in this Camaro is evident the moment you open the
door. The bucket seats have new covers to make sure that
factory-correct black continues to look and feel premium. In fact,
the restoration made sure to preserve the good original elements,
but anything that was not up to standard was replaced. The result
is a quality and dark presentation. Still, some of the best
elements are bright standouts from this midnight package. This
includes the three-spoke sports steering wheel, and beyond that is
the dual pod gauges with the Z/28-correct 7,000 RRM redline tach.
And to your right, the center console has the bright cue ball-like
topper of the Hurst shifter and the iconic quad readout package is
in a similar bright white. Even the upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo
has a nice glow.
The engine is why a Z/28 is so special. It's a correct MO-code
solid lifter 302 cubic-inch V8 that's had all the right investments
to be as show-worthy as the rest of the car. The engine bay looks
so fresh that you can make out the GM markings on the hoses. And
the Chevy Orange block as well as the bright valve covers and air
topper really make the V8 look like its radiating power... and it
truly is! The motor inhales deeply through a Holley 750 CFM
four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with added power and
authority thanks to long tube headers on the newer dual exhaust.
You get to take full control over this V8 and its thunderous
soundtrack with the four-speed manual transmission. Plus, a stout
12-bolt rear end and the 4.11 gears make for reliably quick
launches. Control is also well in hand front disc brakes and
Positraction.
With only about 1,000 miles on this car since restoration, this
impressive and rare total package classic still feels quite fresh.
It has the great balance of a sophisticated look and a wicked
powerplant. That's the kind of car that will be forever in demand,
but only available once. Call now!
