1948 Plymouth Special Deluxe
In 1948, the major auto manufacturers in America were having a hard
time keeping up with the orders for new cars due to pent-up demand
from Detroit production focusing on the war effort. As a
result, few changes were made to the pre-war Plymouth cars from
1941. Production of vehicles for the civilian market
following the WWII began in 1945 keeping the same model style up
through the 1948 model year. The car was considered very
stylish at the time, so Plymouth felt no need to update the car
immediately following the war.
This 1948 2 door sedan is a very nice original car. The
car has received an exterior cosmetic restoration but was a solid
car to begin with. The interior is all original as is the
trunk and in the engine compartment. The car runs and drives
good.
