Vehicle Description
Of the thousands of C4 Corvettes that rolled out over its lengthy
12-year lifespan, the one you want to own is still a low-mileage,
well-maintained car that's been loved. With traditional white paint
and a cool two-tone interior, this 1992 Chevrolet Corvette
convertible stands out and is almost guaranteed to generate
positive comments when you're at the gas station or stopped at a
light.
This handsome white roadster sports 21,225 original miles, which
translates to about 850 miles per year. That means no snow, no
daily grind in rush-hour traffic, and no parking lot commutes. The
bright white finish glows in the sunlight, and the code 10 White
paint is a traditional choice, hearkening back to the original Polo
White '53s. This one shows few signs of age with only a few minor
blemishes here and there plus a glossy finish that has obviously
been lovingly waxed on a regular basis. This is a southern car as
well, meaning no rust, no salt, and no underbody issues that even
on the fiberglass Corvette can be a problem. It's hard to do better
than this, and at this price, it will be hard to resist a sunny
afternoon and your favorite stretch of twisting pavement.
This roadster also got a special treatment inside, with comfortable
gray leather seats with white bolsters for contrast. Showing
age-appropriate wear, but no splits or tears, the interior has a
comfortable, lived-in look like your favorite pair of jeans, which
is how the Corvette prefers it. We suspect that the white trim was
added after the car was built, but it sure looks right, doesn't it?
This one was loaded up with options, too: electronic climate
control, a Delco/Bose entertainment system, power windows, locks,
mirrors, and seats, cruise control, and the adjustable F45
suspension. The bright digital gauges are fully operational with no
faded pixels and the carpets almost look new thanks to the low
mileage. Overhead there's a white convertible top that can be
stowed in seconds, one of the Corvette's most appealing features.
Everything works, including the cool digital/analog instrument
panel that is more effective than you might think at first glance
and ice cold A/C.
Power comes from GM's legendary LT1 V8, which made 300 horsepower
in 1992. Performance is entertaining, especially with the automatic
transmission, which drops down a gear from the merest tickle of
your big toe. There are few better point-and-shoot weapons on the
highway than this car; if you see a space in traffic, punch it and
the car roars forward and you're there. Some of the most powerful
brakes of the era were a Corvette trademark, and by 1992, the
suspension was supple yet energetic, delivering one of the best
grand tourers of the era. You can see how clean the engine bay is
in photos, and there are no questionable modifications, no goofy
bolt-ons out of a catalog, and OEM parts throughout. The original,
unblemished 17-inch wheels wear correctly-sized Michelin radials,
not some cheap off-brand like most used 'Vettes. Nice!
Book value says this C4 Corvette is a screaming bargain, offering a
ton of performance and a design that is aging gracefully. Powerful,
fast, and with a great color combination, this is a lot of fun for
not a lot of scratch. Call today!
