The 1936 Ford is highly sought after, it combines decco pre-war styling and elegance with rugged astute dependability. Kinda like that grey suit that never goes out of style.The car runs and drives like new with accurate steering and solid brakes. The exterior finish is excellent with few flaws from being driven and enjoyed. The chrome bumpers, exterior trim and stylish grill are all excellent , being redone when it was repainted. The headlight lenses are original Ford and marked as are the tail lights. The roof is correctly restored with a new soft top.This car was restored from an already great example that just needed freshening up, much time and effort was spent with considerable attention to detail. The interior is fresh, correctly restored with comfort in mind. The correctly functioning gauges are original and excellent as are the steering wheel and center mounted headlight switch. The front windshield cranks open, is a wonderful driving experience, something that was lost to safety controlling folks. The door windows open fully, the back windows open 90 percent for the dog or kids.The windshield and back glass is excellent , the side glass has some wear from being rolled up and down. Ingeniously the spacious trunk is accessed through the back seat where the jack and tire changing accessories are stored. The front floor is covered with a correct rubber mat and the back floor is carpeted. The locking continental kit holds the matching wide white wall spare tire, the tires are 6.00 16" Ford Universal four ply wide white walls and like new.The rubber trim on the running boards does have some minor wear. Dual exterior mirrors and added directional are helpful. Unlock the steering wheel, turn the switch on and with the push of the floor mounted starter button, the original 221 ci flathead engine starts and runs great . All 85 horsepower come to life with the three speed transmission and floor mounted shifter, nice. The engine compartment is clean and correct and the 6 volt positive ground battery is mounted under the drivers floor.Old Fords are being rediscovered and are a great value considering restoration costs today.
