1968 Corvette Coupe
History of ownership and restoration.
- Corvette was purchased by current owner in 2003 and was
represented as follows
- Original numbers matching 327 / 300HP engine with non-original
heads
- Original Transmission and differential
- Paint as delivered was Polar White
- ID number ID’s Corvette as an “ Paint Delete” car which
received actual paint at a local dealership
- Interior was Brown
- In 2004 / 2005 the corvette started a major restoration which
included the following;
- Removal and replacement of engine with a Chev ZZ4 crate engine.
- Original engine is currently stored at my house
- Paint was stripped to bare fiberglas
- Body seams inspected and repaired as required
- Body was re-gel coated, primered and painted and clear-coated
in its current La-Mans Blue color.
- In 2014 the corvette was taken to Capital City Corvette and
spent the next two years undergoing an extensive restoration which
included but not limited to; (Receipts are attached)
- Removal of engine, transmission, differential, exhaust system
all electrical wiring, complete interior including seats, carpet,
dash all associated interior panels.
- Transmission and differential were sent to custom shop and
rebuilt
- Engine, transmission and differential were re-installed
- Corvette was completely re-wired and all pneumatic hoses
replaced
- Power steering was added
- New oversized exhaust system was installed
- Interior was completely redone;
- New carpeting
- Rebuilt seat frames and new leather seat covers
- New interior panels

- Dash was re-installed
In closing about the only thing I didn’t do was replace the
windshield and side glass (which I kind of regret.
