For Sale: 1967 Jaguar E-Type in St Louis, Missouri

Vehicle Description

This car represents a great opportunity to acquire a very nice late Series 1 4.2 E-type roadster. We have this Jaguar on consignment from its owner. The owner in this instance is unique, having owned and operated a highly regarded shop specializing in Jaguar restoration and repair for some 35 years. After a career of restoring Jaguars for customers, he built this one for himself. Thus in this instance, you have an E-type that was restored by an expert with both experience and a passion for the marque. The car received a rotisserie restoration over the past 3 years in which every nut, bolt, trim, rubber, and leather was restored or replaced. Engine was rebuilt and includes performance camshaft upgrade. Transmission was rebuilt including new clutch and pressure plate installed. Brakes/hydraulics and suspension were rebuilt or replaced and new Koni shocks installed throughout. New stainless steel "big bore" exhaust has been added to maximize power. She rides on new Dayton chrome 15s and Pirelli P6000 tires. Even the hose clamps are original style demonstrating the extreme attention to detail. The car is flawless in panel fit, panel integrity, color consistency and gloss. She is truly beautiful and there is no prettier color combination than Opalescent Silver blue and dark blue. Again, beautiful! The Jaguar Heritage Certificate shows all the numbers and codes to which the car was built (all matching to this car and the vin plate). This car was built near the end of production for the 1967 Series 1 E-types. As such, it still had the small, attractive above the bumper tail lamps of the clean original design. Due to regulatory requirements of the time, these late 1967 cars also originally had open headlamps and lost horsepower from a change in carburetors to meet the first emissions standards. These cars were often called Series 1 1/2 or 1.5 although that was never an official Jaguar designation. In this case, the restorer brought back the purity of the original design by converting it to covered headlamps. It was also restored with power to match its styling. The restorer, a professional Jaguar mechanic built a balanced and blueprinted engine complete with triple S.U. carburetors and other performance enhancements. Thus in this car, you have one of the last 1967 E-types with the pure original E-type styling plus smile inducing power that well exceeds the original. You're buying the best of the best. A series I covered headlight car that was built by the icon of the industry. You can't find a better, more enjoyable and fun purchase that seconds as a great investment!
