Vehicle Description
1940 Ford Deluxe coupes are one of the most sought-after classics.
With an upgraded Ford V8, a nicely finished interior, and plenty of
charisma, it might seem like the price is a misprint on this bright
red coupe. But instead you're just looking at a fleeting
opportunity to own the custom '40 you've always wanted at a value
price.
The 1940 Ford business coupe is incredibly popular thanks to its
combination of timeless good looks and practical comfort. There's
no need for radical modifications to the body, because it already
has all the best features you could want on a custom car. The
wave-like profile of the sheetmetal is complemented by the V-shaped
grille, the stainless side trim, curved chrome bumpers, and the
chevron-shaped taillights. But besides just investing in the
factory fundamentals, this one has a great custom presence with the
aggressive forward-leaning stance, shiny moon wheel covers, and
cool pinstriping that is a bold standout from the bright Rangoon
Red paint.
Open the door, and it's hard to believe this is a machine from the
1940s. The tan and copper two-tone has the unmistakable look of a
custom presentation on the plush door panels, carpeting, and
headliner. Even the large trunk carries matching carpeting. Today
we appreciate its size because it creates a great exterior style,
but back in the day, this added space was loved by everyone from
the traveling salesman to moonshiners. We particularly like the
look of the bucket seats. Not only are they more comfortable than
anything that came the '40s, but also the interiors two colors
combine while showing off the cool diamond-stitched pattern. And
from behind the wheel there are more great signs of investment. A
grippy three-spoke steering wheel sits in front of a full gauge
panel. And this is a clear indication of an upgrade under the hood,
too.
We love it when these cars are upgraded to larger V8s, but while
most choose Chevy power, it's great to see this blue oval machine
have its engine bay is full of Ford power. The 351 cubic-inch
Cleveland V8 looks show-ready with its shiny valve covers, matching
air cleaner, braided steel lines, and a block painted to match the
exterior red. And beyond this cool appearance is some nice
substance. This V8 has been upgraded with a large Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor, aluminum intake, MSD ignition, and even an
aluminum radiator to keep it all running cool. More than a great
power package (with plenty of growl from the dual exhaust) there's
also upgrades to feel good on the road. This includes the
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc
brakes. The final touch is a new set of wide rear BF Goodrich T/As
for added grip.
The 1940 Ford Deluxe coupe is one of those icons that you'll always
love, but rarely are they this affordable. So don't miss out, call
today!
