For Sale: 1956 Chevrolet Del Ray in Cuyahoga, Ohio

Vehicle Description

For Sale 1956 Chevy 210 Delray. I have owned this car for over 49 years and have finally decided to sell it. It has taken me several years to make this decision, but I don't drive it as much and its time to let some one else enjoy it.

A little History:

I bought the car in Florida when it was 12 years old and used it as a daily driver for about 18 months. The car was very solid and the interior and sheet metal were in very good condition. The car has not seen rain or snow since late 1970. It then became a toy, but it wasn't until 1973 that the car was dismantled and redone to what it looks like now. All the sheet metal is original except we installed new rocker panels, the interior was freshened up and replaced the glass and windshield with new tinted glass. The restoration took about one year.  I was adamant about keeping the car its original color and interior. The Crocus Yellow /Laurel Green paint were only featured in 1956 as a two tone. The car then was driven only on nice days.

Current:

Through the years of ownership I made multiple upgrades to the car ,but could never do some of the things I felt it needed because of raising a family is more important. A 4-speed to replace the 3-speed and a new 327 C.I. finally made its way into the car.  Finally after the family grew up and I retired I was able to freshen the car up once again.

In 2014 I did a lot of upgrading mechanically to its current state. The paint and interior are still the same. In 1973 the Stock paint colors were only available in acrylic lacquer paint and now it has starting to show hairline cracking in several places ( very common with aging). The interior also has shown some of the same ( can be seen in pictures). Despite this, the paint and interior still look very nice. As mentioned 2014 was a busy year for upgrades, below is a list of work I did in 2014.
