Vehicle Description
This 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is one heck of a car. 650
supercharged horsepower, a fantastic (and rare) color combination,
loaded with options, and wow, look at that price tag! 40% off and
only 16,000 miles? This has to be the performance buy of the
century.
Why is the ultimate Corvette so affordable? Well, it's been dinged
(while sitting still, no less!). Not wrecked, not totaled, not even
really hurt in a way that matters, but someone in a parking lot
bumped the nose hard enough to require replacement and, well, that
shows up on the reports. Buyers get skittish about that kind of
stuff, but in the case of this Blade Silver Z06, there's no damage
beyond a fresh nose cone up front. And we have to admit this rare
color combination looks dynamite, with a fantastic high-tech look
outside and those plush tan leather seats that scream luxury
inside. There are almost no signs of use or wear anywhere else
other than the nose and the C7 looks spectacular from any angle.
Vents and grilles make it look aggressive, and on the Z06 they're
all fully functional, as is the deep chin spoiler and more
substantial rear wing. The diffuser below the rear bumper looks
like it came off the Le Mans C7R and the white LED taillights look
high tech indeed.
The beautiful tan leather interior is virtually unmarked, and with
just 16,617 original miles, it even still smells new. It's loaded
with options, most notably the 8-speed paddle-shift transmission,
which cracks off lightning-quick upshifts and is always ready for
more speed with a quick downshift or two. It's no longer true that
you need a manual to go fast, because this auto 'box is better than
you on your best day. But despite the performance emphasis, the Z06
has plenty of luxury, including power windows, locks, seats, and
mirrors, a powerful climate control system, touch screen
infotainment system, and beautiful chairs that look ready for the
track. It also features the two top option, which is a great
addition, and there are heavy-duty floor mats to keep the carpets
looking their best. The cargo bay is large and well-shaped, so
it'll handle all your gear, because the Z06 eats pavement
effortlessly!
That performance comes from a supercharged version of the 6.2 liter
V8 used in lesser Corvettes, and it cranks out 650 horsepower and
650 pounds of torque. Yes, it's legit. This is more car than you
can use anywhere on surface streets and I'm not sure what else can
run with it, to be honest. You'd certainly have to spend a lot more
money to go incrementally faster. The LS motors are also
bulletproof, with the Z06 being specifically bred for the track, so
it gets all kinds of upgrades designed to improve reliability and
durability under stress. There are coolers for the oil,
transmission, and rear end, gigantic disc brakes at all four
corners, and a suspension that claws so hard at the pavement that
it might dislodge chunks of asphalt. It scorches 0-60 in 3.3
seconds, the quarter mile in 11.4 at 127 MPH, and pulls all the way
to the front door of 200 MPH. Nevertheless, it rides well enough to
drive every day and if you keep your foot out of it, fuel economy
is reasonable, if not amazing. The 8-speed shifts on its own just
when you need it to and the exhaust barks the way old-school muscle
cars used to. Beautiful forged aluminum wheels with staggered
Michelin Pilot run-flats give it neck-straining grip and still have
plenty of life left in them.
You have never driven a faster car, I promise you that. New ones
are crowding the $100,000 barrier, and they look and act just like
this one. Grab it while it's available, because this is one heck of
a bargain. Call today!
