1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 For Sale- 1 of 3 Factory Built, Drag
Pack W Code- 4.30 LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1970
Ford Mustang Boss 302. Ford's performance machine, the Boss 302,
was a direct competitor to Chevrolet's Camaro Z/28, as it offered
more performance on a reduced-weight chassis. It proved its worth
on the track, winning the SCCA's 1970 Trans-Am racing series, and
it was quite popular in the showroom as it offered customers a
vehicle that was just as comfortable on the road as it was on the
track. For 1970, the Boss 302 was fitted with hockey-stick side
stripes, and the base model 1970 grille that replaced outer
headlights with horizontal vents. Along with the exterior
modifications came changes to the chassis and suspension including
standard disc front brakes, heavier sway bars, spindles, and shock
towers. The solid-lifter 302 cubic inch engine was rated at 290
horsepower and backed by the standard Four Speed transmission which
was the perfect package to compete in SCCA Trans-Am racing. This
1970 Boss 302 was produced at the Dearborn Assembly Plant on
December 18th, 1969 six days behind schedule. It was shipped to
Hiller Ford Inc. in Franklin, Wisconsin where it remained majority
of its life. It came from the factory powered by the G Code Boss
302 Trans Am engine with the mandatory RUG Toploader 4-speed manual
transmission. Many factory options are still present such as; rear
deck spoiler, Traction-Lok Differential, Power Steering, AM Radio,
Tachometer, Drag Pack 4.30 Gear Ratio and Magnum 500 chrome wheels.
