1974 Pontiac Trans Am 455
- California car as rust free as they come. Built in Norwood,
Ohio. Purchased at Bryant Pontiac in Covina, Ca. Owner was serving
at Norton Air Force base; car was stored in the California desert
in 1984 and brought out of storage a perfect candidate for
restoration.At this point a frame off restoration began;
transmission, rear end and front suspension were rebuilt. Original
Pontiac interior was upgraded to Black seats, leather inlays and
red baseball stitching. Car maintains original carpeting. Original
tilt steering column and Trans Am steering wheel are also in the
car. When we purchased car from family the speedometer registered
16,792 miles on it. We showed the car for about a year in Southern
California and decided to take the car to the next level. In May
2017, the 455 engine was rebuilt and balanced, adding an Eagle
crank shaft, Eagle rods, and Eagle RV Cam. The car has won several
awards including Best of Show.
This 1974 Trans Am is a matching numbers car, with a 455 V8
which was an option that year. 1 of 4,648 built with the code L75
455. Transmission is a Turbo 400. Have PHS documentation with
window sticker and build sheet. Came with Posi-traction rear end,
power steering and power windows. Factory equipped with A/C which
has been upgraded to 134A. Has small back window. Car has original
gauge cluster and original console. Also has factory option stock
stereo. Buccaneer Red was one of only three Trans Am colors
available in 1974, and code 75 Buccaneer Red is indeed this cars
original color. Car has been repainted and color has been sharpened
up. Wheels and tires have been upgraded to 17”Year One Snowflake
rims with Nitto tires. Car is finished and I have receipts for work
done
