1979 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible owned by well known and multi-
concours winning classic car collector from the Boston area. Built
by Karmann in Osnabruck West Germany in December of 1979 makes this
one of the very last Volkswagen Convertibles ever made and one of
the last shipped to America.
Purchased several years ago from the reported second owner, this
rust free, originally Ziebarted low miles car was sent to Louis
Restorations in Salem, Mass and completely taken apart and received
a $20K concours quality refinish in the original Diamond Silver
factory color, the original bumpers were sent out for triple chrome
plating and sealed on the rear with epoxy. The car also received a
new $3K Haartz Cloth Stay Fast mult-layer convertible top. At this
time the car received a complete mechanical refresh including all
new brakes with four new high quality German brake drums. A new
Sony sound system has been installed but the car comes the original
radio.
This car was invited to and shown at the Misselwood Concours
d'Elegance and is one of only 100 of the finest classic cars to be
invited and displayed at the prestigious Boston Cup plus was the
feature car at the Bunker Hill Day Parade, the oldest parade in
America. This Volkswagen appears and runs as new and is ready to
drive, to show, or to be part of a private collection.
