This absolutely beautiful Corvette was originally a California
black plate example with two previous owners and comes with a
proven Hollywood history from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television
series and is accompanied by certification.
It is reported that the fuel-injected Corvette was acquired and
restored specifically for use in pilot for the Marvel Productions
show and has now been used many times in the series with the famed
name of "Lola."
Extreme care was taken to replace only those original components
that were worn or damaged beyond acceptable limits. As example, all
original exterior chromed trim was disassembled and re-chromed
instead of using reproduction components. Only new original stock
elements were used when replacement was deemed necessary. The
Corvette-logoed gas cap is noted as being one of few reproduction
items utilized, only because of impending time restraints related
to the show delivery schedule.
The original color of the "fuelie" was Honduras Red, but was
changed to Roman Red due to the requirements of the show, Roman Red
is recognized for its popularity for the 1962 model year; this
example is complemented with black leather seats.
This C1 Corvette has the removable and optional hardtop which has
had the Plexiglas rear and quarter side windows replaced with NOS
elements and reproduction rubber weather stripping. The soft-top
has had the fabric, seals, and glass replaced as well. The engine,
transmission, clutch, and other mechanicals are stated to have been
in proper working order, so no changes were implemented to these
workings. The engine block and bay were repainted at the time. The
front suspension has new kingpins, control arm, bushings, an
brakes. The gas tank is also a new unit.
Overall, this desirable machine is reported as being professionally
restored with NOS parts, and has been executed in a manner that
allows for excellent running and driving. A six-speed manual
transmission is fitted to the Corvette for driver friendliness; the
original Corvette unit comes with the car. Four-wheel disc brakes
have also been added, further aiding the driving experience.
Lola is a fully restored Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. collectible that
has modifications based on the designs and technologies developed
by Howard Stark. The current owner concludes: "Lola is flight
capable (VTOL), and equipped with flamethrowers and world's first
GPS system. She clearly holds considerable sentimental value for
Agent Coulson. Don't touch Lola,' directed at primarily lower
level agents, has become something of a mantra. When not in use;
Lola is seen parked in the cargo bay of the flying base."
