For Sale: 1967 Oldsmobile Toronado in Atascadero, California

Vehicle Description

Price reduced from $27,500!!! The cars I used to base my price on have not been selling, and I want this car to sell. I have over $100k and 12 years into the restoration/modifications and I'm done. It makes no sense for me to put more into this car to finish it since I won't recoup any of it anyway, so it needs to go as it is. I am selling for purely irrational emotional reasons. It really is an amazing car and just needs a few more things but I can't write another check.

An already rust free California car completely restored with new paint (body was completely stripped to bare metal first). All new interior including carpet and headliner. Speedometer rebuilt, dash redone by just dashes and steering wheel restored. All new electrical with custom wiring harness because no one makes a wiring harness for a Toronado. Headlight canisters replaced with ones that don't leak. All vacuum diaphragms replaced throughout the car. Motor bored out to 454 keeping original stroke, using forged I beam rods, forged pistons, forged and heat treated crank, Mondello aluminum heads, gm motorhome aluminum intake manifold with Holley hp multiport fuel injection. Massive gm motorhome sized Griffin aluminum radiator and fan combination.

Extensive expense and  modification had to be done to attach this EFI to the manifold and get it to fit under a stock Tornado hood, not an easy task. MSD ignition. Transmission rebuilt by Mike's Transmissions in Palmdale to handle increased HP and torque from the built motor. New CV joints and axles. Remote power locks installed and stereo head unit installed in glove box. Emblems are new from Fusik's All brightwork like new, stainless polished and chrome redone. Gen 2 front disc brakes and booster so parts are readily available.

This is without a doubt the most vicious sounding beast of a Tornado you will ever come across. The amount of effort that has gone into upgrading the performance and reliability while maintaining a completely stock look is impressive to anyone that knows anything about these cars. It is completely unique and incredibly difficult to replicate what's been done. It's still front wheel drive and with the torsion bar front suspension it is a really amazing experience to drive especially on a mountain road.

I bought the car 2001 after spending months lookign for the right color combinationg in CA and it was my daily driver for 4 years before I decided to restore it. I’m the fourth owner, the first only owned it for 2 years, the second had it from 69 to 2000, loved the car and regularly drove it to las vegas. The third owner had it for a little less than a year, bought it as a car to work on with his son but his son wanted a mustang. It’s spent it’s entire life in Southern CA.
