Vehicle Description
This Top-Flight NCRS 1961 Corvette is; without any hesitation; one
of the finest total frame-off C1 restorations on the market today.
Beginning with a matching-numbers 283 245hp motor with dual-quads;
tied to a Powerglide automatic transmission; this Corvette is one
of only 242 built with such a configuration in 1961. The engine and
transmission were professionally rebuilt during the restoration;
with every item under the hood being replaced or rebuilt to NCRS
specifications. The exterior was professionally painted in DuPont
Chroma Base Black for the body with Nevada Silver for the coves.
The body and paintwork on this vehicle far beyond expectation. The
Al Knock Interior of the vehicle sets of what is the finest
interior of any '61 on the market today. From the Wonderbar Radio
throughout the dash; each piece of the interior is in like-new
condition. This is; without any doubt; the finest matching numbers
'61 currently being offered for sale. 1961 saw updated styling
touches to the Corvette as it began its journey from the C1 to C2
body style. With new; more aggressive; rear styling; including
redesigned bumper and taillights and a fine mesh front grill; the
car took a bold new step forward. The '61 Corvette revealed the
boat tail styling that would be the hallmark of the C2 models to be
released two-years later. The final year of contrasting paint
colors in the body coves of the corvette; this would be the last
two-tone Corvette offered until the release of the 25th Anniversary
Edition in 1978.
