Vehicle Description
This 1 of only 259 US Challenge Stradale's is presented in what
many may consider to be the ultimate collector's specification.
This Concours d'Elegance level example is presented in Nero over
black and red alcantara interior, a color combination of which few
cars were produced in. Roughly 5% of the 259 US Stradale's came in
black as can be seen in the Ferrari 360 Stradale registry. Only 31%
of all examples, including this one, came painted by the factory
with the highly desirable and extremely recognizable signature
center stripe. It is perfectly optioned with a black leather
dashboard, Handly fire extinguisher, two tone stripe (as previously
stated), special features, yellow brake calipers, and red colored
standard stitching. All these options were an additional
$9,184.00.
This particular Ferrari was delivered new from Cauley Ferrari on
September 13, 2004. The second owner reportedly obtained the
vehicle in April of 2014. Cauley Ferrari annually serviced the
Stradale until it moved from Michigan where it remained until
August of 2016 which is when this immaculate vehicle made its way
to sunny California. Down in Southern California, Ferrari of Orange
County performed a PPI inspection and compression tests all
demonstrating the immaculate condition of this extremely well kept
Stradale. The last annual service was completed on August 2016 with
only 5,095 miles on the odometer. A full front end clear bra was
soon installed the following September of that same year. A few
months later, in December, our consignee purchased this beautiful,
well-balanced, street-legal race car. Lastly, exactly three years
from the last belt replacement, the renown Modena Motorsport
completed a belt service on March 31, 2017. Both Gustavo, the
service manager of Modena Motorsports and our detailer specialist,
Tim Scott, could not believe the condition quality that this
pristine Stradale is in, mechanically and cosmetically. Please keep
in mind that there are other 360 Challenge Stradale's out on the
market, however many of them have been abused both on and off the
track. This marvelous example is a close as it gets to a true race
car, with only a few hundred miles under the hood.
When the 360 Modena was nearly four years old Ferrari wanted to
homologate some improvements for their GTC racer and thus the 360
Challenge Stradale was introduced. The Challenge Stradale weighs in
at just 44lbs more than the 360 Challenge and a staggering 240lbs
less than a standard Modena resulting in a dramatic performance
increase. The Stradale features a host of aero and mechanical
refinements that combine to make it 3.5 seconds faster around
Fiorano than an ordinary Modena. The engine is a work of art and
provides the driver with an audible symphony of a powerful exhaust
note and the kind of performance that is unique to a race-ready car
designed for road use. The F1 transmission, which shifts in 150
milliseconds, produces lightning-quick changes through the 6-speed
gearbox, incorporating two different configurations, sport and
race, with corresponding damper and traction control settings.
The Challenge Stradale, being one of Ferraris truly dual purpose
road and track racers, has justifiably earned a place in the
history books as offering an extraordinary driving experience
completely removed from the rest. When driving, this Stradale will
never disappoint in giving its next owner the greatest, most raw
driving experience one can ever obtain while behind the wheel,
feeling every response this Ferrari gives and receives on the road.
