long term storage!� What a great buy!! The Jeep Wagoneer was
introduced to the market as the first American built sport utility
vehicle (SUV) in 1963 and carried through an industry leading 28
years of production. Deemed a 4-wheel drive truck with car-like
drivability, it literally wrote the book decades before buyers
would find large trucks a suitable daily driver. It would be
produced with limited changes year to year, but the most luxurious
and well-appointed came about with the introduction of the Grand
Wagoneer in 1984. It would be fully loaded with all available
options and became the "gold standard" for luxury off-road
vehicles. Standard equipment included 15" alloy wheels with all
season tires, air conditioning, dual front power seats, AM/FM/
Cassette radio with Jensen Accusound speakers (replaced by Pioneer
CD player and upgraded Pioneer replacement speakers), roof rack &
rails, leather & velour seating surfaces, leather wrapped steering
wheel, power windows & locks, power rear hatch window, tinted
window glass, faux wood body side appliques, and so much more!
After Chrysler acquired AMC in early 1987, only a few improvements
were made to this well established platform making the 1987-1991
final year models highly desirable for collectors today! We are
very excited to offer this 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer finished in
factory code correct Grenadine over Cordovan leather and cloth
combination interior! Power comes from its original 360ci 5.9L V8
engine with automatic transmission offering easy 4-wheel drive
capabilities through the ease of moving a dash lever. Options are
abundant and fully functional! These include air conditioning,
power windows, power locks, power rear window, cruise control, dual
8-way power seats, rear defrost, illuminated passenger vanity
mirror, carpeted floor mats, power steering, power front disc
brakes, rear tow hitch, roof top rack & rails, 15" alloy wheel
wrapped in 235/75R15 radial whitewall tires, front fog lamps,
intermittent wipers with washers, and more! This example hails from
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where it sold new and served its original
owner through 2014! When it finally traded hands, it received a
deserving amount of attention having sat largely unused during the
later years. It was elected to be repainted by its second owner,
George Kerr, of Bemus Point, New York to improve the lack luster
original exterior paint along with new exterior wood veneer
utilizing the original wood moldings. The interior remains
beautifully original and in gorgeous condition! Further
improvements include new windshield, marker light bezels, taillight
moldings, new radiator with upper & lower radiator hoses, new water
pump, fresh distributor assembly, steering stabilizer, front brake
hoses, power lock switch with three new lock actuators, new
alternator & battery, fresh drive belts, fully rebuilt carburetor &
intake gasket, fresh fuel filter, air filter, and engine fluids all
completed though August 2016. All four wheels were fully refinished
by Chicago Autohaus to better than new condition. �More recently in
2017, it received new hood insulation, new rear steel brake lines,
new rear wheel brake cylinders, new brake fluid, new spark plugs,
recent engine oil/filter change, air conditioning conversion to
R134a, as well as a fresh starter all installed within the last 30
days! Today, this remarkable example now possesses just 40,006
original miles and continues to offer superb drive qualities, let
alone outstanding investment potential! Included with the car will
be a host of service records, 2-sets of keys, and a clean CarFax
history report! Examples this incredible are becoming more
