Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. In 1973, the Eldorado was removed
from the Fleetwood series and reestablished as its own seriex. The
73 model received a facelift featuring new front and rear bumpers,
egg-crate grille, decklid, rear fenders and signature tail fins. So
popular, the 1973 Eldorado was chosen as the pace car for the Indy
500 in 1973. Cadillac produced 566 of these special pace car
convertibles in which 33 were used at the track during race week.
The remainder of these pace cars were distributed to one unit per
dealership. As a result, Eldorado sales soared to 51451 unites,
over 1/6th of all Cadillac sales.
The 73 Eldorado Convertible offered here is indeed one of the 566
Pace Car editions. It is finished in its signature colors of white
over red leather interior. This massive car is powered by its
massive 500 cubic inch V8 engine with automatic transmission. It,
of course, comes loaded with options including red leather
interior, power steering, power brakes, climate control, power
windows, power top, power antenna, power seat, parade boot, remote
mirrors, full size spare, jack, pace car plaque on dash, etc. The
car runs and drives great and is ready for affordable, top down
summer cruising. The power top goes up and down with ease, the
windows work flawlessly, all the glass is good and the older
repaint is nice. The car presents itself in original condition with
the exception of a repaint. Be big, bold and stylish in this 1973
