1962 was the first year that the 327 V8 debuted as Chevrolet's
premier V8. The 1962 Corvette was built around the new for 62 327
as it came in 4 different horsepower configurations: 250hp, 300hp,
340hp and 365hp. The performance orient 340hp and 360hp featured a
solid lifter came, aluminum intake and 11.25:1 compression ratio.
The 340hp featured a single Carter 4 Barrel Carburetor and the
360hp utilized a Rochester Fuel Injection unit. The fuel injection
alone came at a healthy $484.20 premium for 1962 which equated to
$376.00 dollars for the 20 extra horsepower that the fuel injection
provided. As a result, the 340hp cars outsold the fuel injected
cars by nearly 2500 units.

its current owner in 1997 where the body was completely taken off
the frame and a complete frame off restoration was performed.
Today, after nearly 20 years since completion the car remains in
excellent driver condition and is ready for immediate use. Vehicle
highlights include the 327/340 engine built to stock spec, 4-speed
manual transmission, Classic Cragar SS Wheels, 160mph speedometer,
7000 RPM tachometer, Hurst shifter, beautifully trimmed interior
with stock steering wheel, excellent chrome and trim, etc. Other
highlights include: Updated Mallory ignition, Edelbrock 4 barrel
carb with electric choke, stock exhaust manifolds, aluminum
expansion tank and dual exhaust. Mechanically, this Corvette runs
