Vehicle Description
This beautiful 1951 MGTD was bought new from the MG dealer in
Albany, NY. It changed hands when it was a few years old and was
driven occasionally until 1961. It then slumbered in the back of an
Albany garage for nearly 50 years. It was garage found by the Perry
family and later acquired by Bob Ensign, well known in the region
for his impeccable car restorations. This car was treated to new
black paint, new tan interior, new tires, new top, new fuel tank,
and much much more. This is the original color combination from the
factory. Amazingly, the body was so good on the car that this TD
retains all its original wood framework! The mechanicals have been
fully gone through. The engine underwent an expensive and thorough
rebuild with the help of local T-Series guru XXXXX which included
upgraded front and rear seals which virtually eliminate oil leaking
that was common with the 1250cc engine. Generator and voltage
regulator underwent electronic internal rebuild and Pointless
ignition was also installed. This Black/tan beauty has traveled
less than 500 miles since even completion and is lovingly cared for
by a British Car Enthusiast here in Saratoga Springs.
