Vehicle Description
This is the opportunity to own a piece of sports car history and
have fun on the open road again.
The MG TF marked the end of MG's T series sports cars, which began
before WWII. The T series, the TC and TD, are famous for having
introduced Americans to driving light and nimble roadsters with
good handling and some pep when compared to American sedans of the
1940s.
The TF is a more modern looking car at three inches lower than the
TD with a sloping grill and faired-in headlights resembling the
look of a Morgan. At the time of its introduction in 1954 the TF
seemed outdated compared to the full width bodywork of the Triumph
TR 2 and the Austin Healey 100. In retrospect the TF is now seen as
the best looking and most desirable of the T series MGs.
This car is the standard two-seat TF roadster with the robust
1250cc 4-cylinder MG engine and 4-speed gearbox. It underwent a
full restoration 10-years ago in Ontario and has only some
10-thousand miles since. It is a matching numbers car. Like MGs of
the time this car runs well and is mechanically sound.
Painted in an appropriate black, the roadster is set off by a
beautiful red interior with red leather seats. It also comes with a
new top. Further enhancing the look of this car are heavy-duty 60
spoke wire wheels.
