Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia presents a real 1987 Buick
Grand National / GNX Tribute! This car left the factory as a 1987
Grand National and has been upgraded to GNX specs and then some.
The car received a complete overhaul that was completed less than 5
years and 5000 miles ago. Built by Weber Power Products in Ohio
this Grand National was brought up to GNX specs and then some as
both performance and handling were improved. Every inch of this car
has been gone over and there is no detail that has not been taken
care of. It is one of the nicest Grand Nationals that we have seen.
The Grand National is about as popular as any car that we get at
Gateway Classic Cars. Literally every week someone contacts us to
see if we have a Grand National in stock. Grand Nationals were the
kings of the dragstrip in their day and proved there is a
replacement for displacement. And they're still a hoot to drive.
The Grand National and its many variations boast a fervent owner
group who stick together and really enjoy their cars it's easy to
understand why. As Len Frank said in the first Grand National test
in Motor Trend's December 1983 issue: "Buick started with NASCAR
back in the [Daytona] Beach racing days before the high-banked
ovals, using cars that were ventilated by portholes, armed with
sweep spears, powered by 322-cubic-inch nail head [V-8s], and
driven by Fireball, Buck, Buddy, and the boys. They went like
hell.... The Regal Grand National is their heir, as sure as Kyle
followed Richard and Richard followed Lee." To view this 1987 Grand
