1988 marked the introduction of the fourth generation Chevrolet
Silverado and it was known as the GT400. Coming in multiple
versions with many engine options, this new truck was a lot more
refined and advanced than the models it replaced. Unlike earlier
trucks, the newer style was enhanced by an all new independent
front suspension which improved ride and handling. The trucks also
featured extensive use of galvanized steel for corrosion resistance
and a fully welded frame with a boxed front section for strength
and rigidity. The top of the line gasoline engine was Chevrolet's
famous 454cid V8 engine with electronic fuel injection and it
produced 230hp and 385lb-ft in this application. Mated to a 4-speed
automatic transmission, this was a tough and stout truck.

Chevrolet C/K 3500 4WD. Featuring the 454cid engine automatic
transmission, this truck starts without hesitation and drives with
no issues. With a surprisingly comfortable ride combined with a
roomy and spacious crew cab interior, this is a great road trip
vehicle. What doesn't fit in the cab can go in the massive bed
under the camper top, and if it's still too big, you can tow it
with the trailer hitch and its 5 ton tow capacity. The interior is
in excellent shape with no wear or tear and a fully functioning
dash. The 23k miles seem to be accurate. Power windows and locks,
air conditioning and premium audio system mean this is more than a
just work truck.
Few 3500 trucks with the dual rear wheels and 454 engine came with
4WD, which makes this an excellent value. The exterior is great
shape, the black paint shows well as does the chrome trim. Dark
tinted windows front and back keep the cab private and cool.
Goodyear AT tires have lots of life left and are mounted on the
stock 16in wheels. You will be hard pressed to find another one in
this condition. Coming from Tennessee, this truck is a low mileage
gem which is ready for its next job, whether that be commuting to
work or towing your race car across the country.
