Vehicle Description
Have you ever had the desire to invade a small country or drive
over the top of your neighbors Jeep? Now is your chance! The AM
General HMMWV or "Humvee" is one of the most distinctive vehicles
in the world. It has universal recognition and Hummer has become a
household name. First introduced by the military in the late 1980s,
the HMMWV weighed over two and a half tons and could handle a
2,500lbs payload. Capable of fording a depth of 2.5 feet and 16
inches of ground clearance combined with portal axles means that
this truck is stopped by nothing.
An Ex-military vehicle, this 1989 example was purchased from the
government. Well maintained and in perfect working order, this
truck has just 42 miles on the odometer and 1,117 hours on the
clock. As far as we know, the odometer reading is accurate. The
6.2L diesel starts up without hesitation and pulls surprisingly
strong to its top speed of around 60mph. The automatic transmission
is unobtrusive and shifts smoothly. Easy to drive, this former
military truck is extremely capable.
Featuring a removeable soft top, with zip up windows, sealed off
rear doors and a large cargo bed, this truck can be used for a
variety of tasks from extreme off roading to pulling your next
parade float. The OEM 36x12.50R16.5 tires are in excellent shape
and have many years left in them
A unique piece of American history that can still be enjoyed today,
this 1989 HMMWV is a well maintained piece of equipment that will
continue to excite and turn heads.
