2016 911 R at this year's Geneva International Motor Show. The new
911 R follows in the footsteps of the first 911 R race car which
debuted in 1967. The 2016 Porsche 911 R was limited to just 991
units worldwide, and was lightest version of the 911 at 3021
pounds. Power for the 911 R comes from a 4.0-liter naturally
aspirated flat-six engine that produces an impressive 500 hp and
comes mated to an engaging six-speed manual transmission. The 911 R
is part of Porsche's commitment to building emotional and
high-performance sports cars with the maximum amount of driving
pleasure. The race-bred powertrain accelerates the 911 R to 60 mph
in 3.7 seconds and on to a top track speed of 200 mph. Standard
Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes give excellent braking
performance, and the wide ultra-high-performance tires mounted to
lightweight 20-inch wheels provide plenty of grip on and off the
track. The Porsche Stability Management system has been specially
tuned for the 911 R by Porsche's motorsport department. A light
weight flywheel is to increase engine response, and standard
rev-matching can be activated with the touch of a button for easy
downshifts. Interior equipment includes full bucket seats with
carbon fiber backrests and seat centers. A 911 R specific GT Sport
steering wheel and shortened, R-specific gear lever add to the
sporty character, as does the carbon fiber interior trim and door
opening loops that replace the conventional door handles. This 2016
Porsche 911R GT is finished in Silver Metallic Black with only 48
miles showing. It has a full leather interior, black with stitching
in GT Silver Metallic and 901 fuel tank, heated seats and air
conditioning. It also has 911R Limitation Number, Light Design
Package, Sport Chrono Package, Bose Surround Sound System and Floor
Package Mats. In addition, it has Adaptive Sport Seats, Porsche
Communication Management, Online Services and Bi-Xenon Headlights
