How about a 1971 C10 short box with a fuel injected V8,
overdrive transmission, air conditioning, and cruise control?
That's just some of what this truck has to offer.
This example was redone in Nebraska in the 1990's. The project
started with a nice solid C10 which was dechromed and painted white
throughout. It received a few minor custom touches such as the roll
pan and sleek side view mirrors. There is also a black soft tonneau
cover that looks nice and protects the bed.
The drivetrain was replaced with an early 90's fuel injected V8
along with a 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission. This provides
a more reliable and efficient drivetrain than the original 1971
setup. There is also cruise control along with an OBD1 connector
under the dash.
The interior has a bench seat with lap and shoulder belts. The fuel
tank was moved from the cab to underneath the bed, making things a
bit more spacious inside. The steering column was replaced with a
tilt setup, and the dash was painted to match the truck. Note the
integrated air conditioning vents and the JVC stereo.
This truck has been with the same mechanic owner for 20 years. It
has held up well during that time (though some signs of age are
present). This one really has a lot of nice features that make it
more practical than anything from its era. And I don't think you'll
find many comparable short box pickups in this price range!
