Vehicle Description
Originally designed to be an off road vehicle to compete with the
Jeep CJ and International Harvester Scout, the Bronco was Ford's
first compact SUV. Introduced in 1966 and offered with a wide range
of engines, the Bronco was an instant success. For over 30 years,
the Bronco was a staple of Ford's truck lineup.
Our 1969 Ford Bronco is an excellent example of an uncut time
capsule. Featuring a smooth and peppy 170cid straight-six and the
factory 3-speed column shift, it also has tough front and rear
solid axles with HI and LO ranges and locking Warn hubs. The
recipient of a recent restoration where it was repainted in its
original shade of Ford Grabber Blue. With a contrasting white top,
wheels and grill, this is a very sharp truck. The quality of the
recent paint job is very impressive. All trim pieces are accounted
for and are represented nicely as is the front and rear chrome
bumpers. Everything works to our knowledge including lights,
wipers, gauges, interior fan, parking brake, and the manual windows
and sail panels function as they should. The removable top is well
fitted and doesn't rattle or squeak. The glass is excellent all
around and the doors, hatch, and hood open with smoothness and
ease.
The 170cid straight six pulls well and the factory
three-on-the-tree manual transmission shifts nicely. The clutch is
easy to operate and the truck rides and drives remarkably smooth
for a such a short vehicle. The matching white wheels have
235/75R15 tires, which is a relatively common size. The interior of
the truck also benefited from the restoration and the dash is clean
and uncracked and the seats look and feel as good as new with no
lumpy or collapsed padding. The previous owner of the truck says it
was originally sold in AZ and the lack of rust seem to back that
up. The odometer shows 210 miles which we assume has rolled over
and the previous owner says a lot of those miles were seen being
towed behind an RV. Classic trucks are a hot ticket in today's
market, with models like the Bronco skyrocketing in value. With
many trucks modified and molested, it is getting increasingly hard
to find clean original trucks, especially with the smaller engines
and transmissions. Now is your chance to snatch up a beautifully
kept, uncut example before the price goes up even more!
