Are you thinking about a classic car that has a great look from the
past, has a great stance, has some nice modern updates, and drives
down the road nice and smooth? Well, you really need to take a hard
look at this 1948 Sedan.
Finished in a copper/orange, base/coat, clear/coat, the paint has a
nice deep shine, and a very subtle pin-stripping down the mid-riff
of the car. The lowered stance is spot on, and with the nice choice
of wheels and tires, gives this Ford a nice aggressive look. The
chrome and bright work is all very nice as well.
The engine fires right up stone cold with a fast idle, touch the
throttle and the 350 settles into an easy if not very subtle lopey
idle. Move the column shift into drive, point the car in the
direction you want to go, and be assured, your getting there in
total comfort, style, and reliability. This sedan has manual
steering, but steers nicely, brakes nice and straight, is super
comfortable to drive, and even has a nice detachable face
stereo.
The power front windows work great, the back windows roll up and
down with ease, and by the way have a nice smoke tint to them. That
certainly assists the Vintage Air air conditioning in keeping you a
little cooler than you already are!
The Classic Instruments gauges are easy to read, the odometer
reads:12,746 miles which I suspect are the miles on the build.
Make no mistake, this is a car you can drive anywhere, and go to
some “out of town” car shows without having to trailer it...It's
that reliable!
It's nice to have a collector car that's turn-key reliable that can
be shown and driven. This '48 fits that bill very well. Very clean,
Pacific Northwest car, that's been well taken care of, and built
into a fun, easy to drive, capable Hotrod!
