Externally, the Series 3 Lagonda’s cars are virtually identical to the late Series 2 Lagonda’s. The Series 3 Lagonda had a very short production run until the launch of the face lifted Series 4 Lagonda, only 75 Series 3 fuel injected cars were manufactured. The Series 3 Lagonda is one of the most sought after of the models range still having the original design/exterior cosmetics, but with factory fuel injected engine. The later Series 4 Lagonda was a completed new shape and had updated electronics and new styled dash. The Series 4 is excellent in its own right, but lacking the original wedged shape and what originally sparked the enthusiasts interest in the Lagonda in the first place.
This Lagonda was first delivered to its first owner, Mr. Peter Wall on May 15, 1987 by Aston Martin franchise dealer, Newport Imports, Newport Beach, California. The selling price at the time was a staggering $170,500.00. This Lagonda remained in Mr. Wall’s personal collection until 1999 and had accumulated only 22,000 miles during this twenty-two year span. At this time, it was purchased by its most recent owner and caretaker for the past eighteen years, a resident automobile collector from Bloomfield Hills, MI and where it has remained until only recently. During both of its previously ownerships, this Lagonda was serviced by factory Aston Martin dealers and/or factory trained technicians. It is currently in excellent condition throughout with everything working as was originally intended by the factory when new and with only the slightest cosmetic patina due to age.
This Lagonda is powered by an all alloy dohc 5.4 liter V8 developing 305 bhp @ 5500 rpm and 288 lb. ft. of torque @ 5500 rpm, 6.5 seconds 0-60 with a top speed of 150 mph.
