Vehicle Description
The right color combination can make or break any vehicle, but this
1987 Chevrolet C10 Silverado pickup looks simply awesome in bright
red. It also packs a brawny 350 and a ton of optional equipment,
showing us why these trucks remain so popular today.
Repainted quite recently, this truck carries a factory-correct
color combination and exudes a totally '80s vibe that's still
insanely appealing. That's not to say that it's dated, because the
square-jawed look of these trucks remains timeless. Park this truck
next to one with original paint, and you'll see that the red is
vastly deeper and richer than the original stuff, with a shine that
puts even the best original paint to shame. The finish reflects
straight bodywork underneath, and the hood scoop is a minor upgrade
that pays major dividends in the looks department. All the trim was
reinstalled, including the billet grille and oversized side
mirrors, and it includes a spray-in bed liner for practicality's
sake. Chrome bumpers front and rear give the truck an upscale look
and a few bright accents around the wheel arches and windows makes
it look dressed-up. This is a really nice looking truck.
The interior is tasteful in dark red fabric, with a load of comfort
and convenience options and a mix of old and new pieces that works
well. It's in very good overall condition given that it's now 30
years old, and they upgraded only those things that needed it to
keep a consistent look. The door panels, carpets, headliner, and
dash pad are remarkably well-preserved, and one glance inside tells
you that this was not a stripped-down work truck. Options include
cold factory A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, and a
tilt steering column, all of which make this big pickup a true
pleasure to drive. The entertainment system has been upgraded to a
newer AM/FM/CD stereo system that sounds fantastic, making this a
truck that's ready to cruise cross-country at a moment's notice. A
sliding rear window is always a welcome accessory, creating
draft-free ventilation inside on those days where you don't need
the A/C; try it, you'll like it!
350 cubic inches are plenty to get this truck moving and to haul
just about anything that'll fit in the bed. A vast majority of
these got the smaller 305, so this great-running crate motor really
scoots around town easily and has a great muscle car V8 soundtrack
to go with it. The engine bay is nicely detailed, including a
chrome air cleaner and finned valve covers, but the modifications
are minor, including a set of long-tube headers and upgraded plug
wires. Turn the key and it starts easily, which is what you'd
expect from a small block Chevy, and it feels like a far younger
vehicle from behind the wheel. A 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive
transmission makes highway cruising easy and relatively efficient,
even with the punchy 3.73 gears and a Posi out back. A Magnaflow
dual exhaust system sounds suitably aggressive and it sits on
flashy Torque Thrust wheels with fat 255/70/15 white-letter radials
all around.
A handsome, well-equipped truck that still has a lot of life left
in it. Clean ones are getting scarce, and you'll have a hard time
find a better color combination than this. Call today!
