1956 Ford Thunderbird
You are viewing an original 44K mile Baby Bird unrestored with the exception of a repaint and carpet. Owned and enjoyed for the last 15 years and well cared for and purchased from the original owner. Hard to find a Thunderbird in this condition with such low miles. Only 2K miles has been driven on the car over the last 15 years to local area car shows.

Body/Paint: The body is very straight and never been in an accident. The original color of the car was a cream. It was decided to paint the car black, which was done 14 years ago and shows very nicely. The continental kit is in very nice condition.
Interior: The interior is completely original except for the carpet. The seat had the optional clear plastic on it up until it was purchased 15 years ago. The seat looks like it was installed by Ford last week. Really super nice. Everything in the interior is very presentable with the steering not cracked. Has telescopic steering column with power steering and power windows. Everything works except the clock due to being disconnected years ago in order for the battery not to be run down. It worked when disconnected. No cracks on the dash and everything looks really good.
Tops: Both tops. The soft top is black and was replaced prior to purchase and has been tucked away and never put up for the last 15 years. Always like the hard top on the car.
Running Gear: 312 V8 and never been rebuilt or out of the car. Starts and runs like a champ. Always used lead additive when filling up. Original automatic transmission works like it should as well as the rear end. All in great working order.
Suspension: The frame and suspension is all original with the exception of the shocks and A arm bushings. No rust with factory undercoating still in place on much of the underside.
Bright work: All bright work stainless is original in very good condition showing some signs of age, but very presentable.
Glass: All original to the car.
Exhaust: Parts of the exhaust may be original, but likely partially replaced years ago.
Brakes: Original drum brakes and work as they should.
Wheels/Tires: Original steel wheels and hubcaps in nice condition. New radial tires installed 3 years ago with approximately 300 miles on them.
Summary: The car runs and drives excellent and is a pleasure to drive in town or on the hiway. This car needs nothing and is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner. As a primarily original car it is exceptional considering the car is 68 years old.
