This Factory Five Racing Mk3 Roadster is a Shelby Cobra replica that was purchased in 2005 and completed in 2019 by the original owner with approx. 500km on it. It has spent all of its life in a heated garage. The is a rare car that was purposely built based as a 1965 427 side oiler. It was built using only the finest state of the art high-performance parts staying true to its 1965 lineage. It is powered by a new Bear Block cast iron 427 side oiler V8 with race bred internal components. Dual Holley 660 centre squirter carbs sit atop a Blue Thunder Intake paired with a Ram high performance clutch and Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission. It is finished in the original Guardsman Blue and Wimbledon White racing stripes over black leather. Features include a custom Ron Davis Aluminum rad and dual fans, independent front & rear adjustable suspension, Torsen locking differential, stainless steel dual side exhaust, Mocal oil cooler, chrome single roll hoop, Simpson five-point harnesses, Lizard Skin ceramic heat insulation, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, Halibrand pin drive wheels and much more. This car is now offered with assembly manuals and build invoices and a clean Ontario title in the seller’s name listing the car as a 2005 FFR.
The car’s body underwent extensive body work and prep by a top custom body shop and features an original style riveted carbon fibre hood scoop, rolled body edges, extended wheel wells, and meticulous gapping on all seams. The car is painted in the original Guardsman Blue with painted Wimbledon White stripes and features, polished chrome hoop bumpers, Leman’s gas cap, wind wings, billet driver & passenger mirrors, a chrome roll hoop behind the driver seat, and polished stainless-steel side-exit exhaust. Halibrand Pin Drive 17″ wheels with tri spoke spinners and safety lock clips at all four corners mounted on 245/45 ZR front and 315/35ZR rear BF Goodrich “g” force T/A tires with 2004 date codes. The car was optioned with independent front and & rear suspension, and stopping power is provided by cross-drilled and slotted Wilwood rotors fitted with Wilwood calipers, stainless steel brake lines, independent remote CNC front and rear brakes reservoirs, and a driver-controlled front/rear proportioning valve
The interior features low-back bucket seats upholstered in black leather with Simpson five-point harnesses, heated seats with an adjustable driver seat, a black dashboard featuring a full array of Autometer analogue gauges including a 180-mph reverse sweep speedometer with 375 original miles on it, oil pressure & temp, fuel, voltage, coolant temp & tachometer. Other features include a headlight switch, wiper, horn, fan, fog light, high beam, & turn signal toggles, fire extinguisher with quick release bracket, push-button start, black carpeting, with led lighting in the cockpit and trunk, wood grained 3-spoke steering wheel with Cobra centre hub, brake proportioning valve, and extra-wide drivers footbox with footrest and extra-large passenger footbox.
The star of this automobile is the race built FE 427 Side Oiler stroked to 482 cubic inches with a compression ratio of 10.4:1. The new block is cast iron from Bear Block Motors https://bearblockmotors.com/bbm-cast-iron-ford-fe-engine-block/. The engine was prepped and assembled by one of the foremost high-end engine builders in North America and dyno tested at Beatty and Woods showing 550 HP and 600 LB. torque. This engine and car have been built to race standards, but also tuned for street use and is very easy to drive.
This car has been professionally appraised in 2022 and is a Canadian titled car in good standing with a registration date of 2005. There could be potential issues with importing this car into the United Sates and assume no liability for this.
