Vehicle Description
Not all pony cars are created equal. When you can find a real-deal
1965 Ford Mustang GT in its rare factory-correct colors and has an
upgraded A/C interior, well then you realize that this coupe is
more than just affordable...it's an exceptional classic.
The factory-correct code-5 Twilight Turquoise is always going to
instantly attract an audience. But this one does it even better
with a hint of sinister sports car attitude courtesy of the GT
package elements. After all, these icons get so much cooler with
the correct GT elements like the fog lights in the grille, the
white triple stripe on the rocker panels, and dual trumpet exhaust
pipes coming through the rear valence. Overall fit and finish is
very good, making it the kind of car you want to drive around and
show off. Chrome is bright, the stainless has been polished, and
all the little trim pieces are in place, right down to the factory
wheel covers and proper GT badges on the fenders.
Open the door, and you'll love to see the correct code-62 blue &
white luxury interior. Everything looks great in complementing dual
colors on the seats, door panels, and dash. You've got plenty of
original pieces like the center console with wood paneling that
matches the steering wheel, glovebox, and gauge panel. And speaking
of the gauges, you get the GT-specific five-round readout panel
that's very desirable on these '65s. If you look close you can also
spot some terrific upgrades. This includes the radio that looks
correct with its bright knob-style appearance, but it's actually a
modern digital tuner with an auxiliary input so you can play modern
music in your classic. And everyone loves to have ice-cold air
conditioning, especially when it's running modern R134a for easy
servicing.
As a true factory GT, that also means you had to have the upgraded
V8. So yes, under the hood is an A-code 289 cubic-inch motor with
the enhanced compression and correct Motorcraft four-barrel
carburetor. Not only does the engine bay look like a great time
warp with the correctly painted gold air cleaner and valve covers,
but also the V8 is believed to be original to the car. One turn of
the key, and the dual exhaust let's people know it's the big dog V8
with its rumble. But more than just a high-performance pony, this
loaded Mustang has some great anytime driving features like the
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc
brakes.
So here it is, a real deal GT wearing it's original colors and a
fraction of the price of a fastback. And at such a great price, you
know you better call today or may regret it tomorrow!
