With Audi producing the B7 RS4 from 2006-2008 in Europe, this model
was even more limited to the States as they only produced around
2,000 for the USA and offered only the 2007-2008 model. Production
numbers shrunk even further when discussing the Cabriolet version
which was only offered to the USA as a 2008 model and pulled a
premium when new as only around 300 were ever imported and sold.
Featuring the same engine base that was used for their super car,
the R8, this 4.2L was a strong engine used only in the premium Audi
models. Constructed from fully galvanized steel in a unibody or
"monocoque" design, the B7 kept light but stiff and used
lightweight aluminum for both the fenders and hood.
