There was however a dark time in Mustang history when the drop top was not a choice. From 1974-1982 all Mustangs had a hard fixed roof. Most of this time was during the questionable transitional time of Mustang II production. Mustang fans were thrilled when in 1979 Ford introduced the "Fox Body" generation. This new platform offered a lightweight platform which was perfect for a reliable, and powerful small block such as the legendary 5.0. This particular 1986 model is a wonderful example featuring: the convertible body style, a sharp red/white color combination, and the 5.0 Liter V8 engine with a 5 speed transmission. This car has the benefits of a classic car, but the creature comforts of a modern vehicle. This one has power steering, power brakes, and even air conditioning, but unlike a brand new car will not depreciate with every mile you drive it. This one features "bright red" exterior paint with black GT striping. The convertible top is bright white to match the white interior.
