1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Roadster in Halton Hills, Ontario

Vehicle Description

1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible For Sale - Numbers Matching 427/390HP LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible. After so much success with the C2 generation avid Chevrolet Corvette admirers had high expectations for the new Chevrolet Corvette (C3) that would be produced for the 1968 through 1982 model years. Within the C3 third generation the 1969 through 1976 models were the second generation of the Corvette Stingray with the name now spelled as one word. This Corvette legendary design was patterned after the famous experimental Mako Shark II that was designed by Larry Shinoda. The C3 design adopted the "sugar scoop" roof treatment with vertical back window from the mid-engine concept models designed by the Duntov group. The Coupes now had removable roof panels known as T-tops and had a removable rear window. A soft folding top was included with Convertibles, while an auxiliary hardtop with a glass rear window was offered at additional cost. The classic Corvette design of concealed headlights continued with the new flowing design lines but were now moved by a vacuum operated system rather than electrically as did the new hide-away windshield wipers lid. Exterior door handles were flush with the top of the doors so the chrome finger plate would actuate the door eliminating the separate release button. Front fenders had functional engine cooling vents. Side vent windows were eliminated from all models with the new "Astro Ventilation" fresh air circulation system. Inside the new dash had a large round speedometer and matching tachometer positioned in front of the driver while the auxiliary gauges were clustered above the forward end of the console. The chassis was carried over from the second generation models retaining the fully independent suspension and the four-wheel disc brake system. The engine line-up and horsepower ratings were also carried over from the previous year. This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible was rolled out of the assembly line in St. Louis on February 21, 1969.  Powered by its numbers matching 427/390hp engine, as well as the numbers matching 4 speed manual transmission. It includes the Heavy Duty “AT” 3.08 Positraction Rear End, and has such luxuries as power steering, power brakes, and the Tilt-Telescopic Steering Column. This Corvette is finished in its color code 976 LeMans blue exterior with its matching color code 411 blue interior with contrasting white soft top that goes up and down just as smoothly and quickly as it did in 1969. This Corvette is a very collectible C3 and will provide you with all the thrills of driving a big block Vette with the top down. If you are looking for a muscle car that provides superb performance and sound as well as a sleek and mean appearance, this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is the car.
