Vehicle Description
This truck spent its entire life as a Fire Truck. It has always been kept indoors, it has always been at the Ready.
It was recently purchased by an ambitious Ford truck lover. He had this great old Ashton wrecker body, so he decided to build this special truck.
None of it was ever rusted. The 8RT flathead V8 is original to the truck and recently rebuilt. The odometer reading of 21,585 is actual mileage, so the rest of the components certainly can’t be worn out. The four speed transmission feeds a two speed rear axle. It is locked into high range. Believe me, you would never need low!
The tires, brakes and fuel system are new. The interior is new. It has been converted to twelve volt and the generator was rebuilt, new wiring installed and a new voltage regulator. The battery and cables are new. It has headers and stainless duals ending in stacks. All the lighting is new, as is the glass and rubber seals.
The winch cable is new. The PTO works fine. The winch is reversible. It can also be put in neutral for free-wheeling. There is a hitch for attaching the front of the car.
The paint is very fresh. It was laid over a rust-free body. The chassis was all painted black when the body was off.
The features and lights all work with the exception of the wipers and horn. There is no heater. The door lock is new, as are the FORD letters on the hood.
There was a lot of time, effort, money and knowledge invested in the truck. It is freshly done and is ready to be enjoyed.
It is a great show piece that can be driven wherever you wish to go.
