Vehicle Description
1960 Impala Sport Coupe for sale, Original Paint Survivor 348
Factory A/C There is a growing interest in the collector car world
towards unrestored, original paint cars. Although many still
prefer the fully polished base/clear paint with detailed components
and undercarriage of a frame off restored car, many of the purists
are attracted to the original, un-restored cars which are true
examples of how the cars were built, how well they were cared for
since new and of course the undeniable authenticity of an original
car. They are the last true representations of how that particular
automobile was built on the assembly line and not the
interpretation of how the restorer believes they were all
constructed. A truly great original car is also the best evidence
of the gentle, well cared for existence that car has enjoyed since
new. This incredible 1960 Chevrolet Impala is a great example of
how well a car can survive after 55 years of meticulous care. The
factory applied Shadow Gray paint remains in incredible condition
from front to back showing minimal signs of aging and use and still
wears the dealership sticker from L.R. Cooke Chevrolet in Lexington
Kentucky. The same can be said for the well maintained red and
white houndstooth interior. Powered by the 348 c.i. 4 Barrel
engine with an automatic transmission and very nicely optionedwith
factory Air Conditioning, Continental kit, fender skirts, E-Z Eye
Tinted glass, front and rear bumper guards, dual rear deck
antennas, wide whitewall tires, AM radio and power steering. The
signs of preservation can be found throughout this car, from the
quality of the chrome and trim to the original oil change tags
still attached to the door, this is a time capsule car. Finding
such a well preserved car is a rare chance and finding one which is
a desirable model such as a two door hardtop 1960 Impala with
factory 348 power and factory A/C is a truly unique opportunity not
to be missed. Over the past several years, "Hagerty's Cars That
Matter" has observed unrestored cars sell for prices that would
have astonished in the recent past. Preservation Classes are being
added to concours nationwide to showcase well preserved and mostly
unrestored, un-refinished, and unaltered cars. The old car hobby is
headed in the direction of the fine art, decorative arts, and
antique furniture markets, where a premium is placed on
originality. Additional Details: 1960 CHEVROLET IMPALA SPORT COUPE
