MotoeXotica is proud to offer this pre-war survivor and hauler, a 1941 Chevrolet Stake Bed Truck from San Pedro, California. This clean, older restoration has an inline six-cylinder engine that runs well and is connected to a three-speed manual transmission. This truck has 15-inch blue steel wheels with Chevrolet "moon" hubcaps, new drum brakes and updated 12-volt electrical system.
This truck's exterior has some minor blemishes but overall, it looks great with its cool blue-over-black paint and is a solid, great-driving vehicle. The glass is great shape, as are the vehicle's exterior lights. The hood, fenders, doors and running boards are all in fine shape. There is only a windshield wiper on the driver's side. Out back, the flat bed has varnished wood railings (three). The bumpers are in good shape. On the passenger side of the split windshield is a sticker that reads A and Gasoline Ration. The U.S. Office of Price Administration (OPA) rationed gasoline on May 15, 1942 on the east coast and nationwide that December to assist in the war effort which created massive shortages and issued a variety of stickers to identify users and control the amount of fuel used.
The stickers had to be affixed to the car's windshield, depending on need. To get your classification and ration stamps, you had to certify to a local board that you needed gas and owned no more than five tires.
The "A" sticker is the most common of the WW2 Gas Ration Stickers and was issued to the general public.
Inside, a new interior has been installed. The dash and steering wheel appear original but the horn is inoperable. Fuel, oil pressure, engine temperature, ammeter and odometer all work. There is no radio in this vehicle.
First year of the light-duty utility vehicle, sold until 1947, shared its platform with the Chevrolet Deluxe car. The AK series represented an appearance split from previous Chevrolet products where the passenger cars and pickup trucks shared a common appearance, as demonstrated in the Chevrolet Master truck. The Chevrolet Deluxe was an all-new appearance when it was introduced in 1941 and shared much of its mechanicals with the third-generation Chevrolet Suburban.
Current mileage on the odometer shows 50,561 miles. It is sold as is and on a clear California title, with mileage exempt.
