This iconic Jaguar coupe came to us from the estate of the second owner who cared for the car lovingly since the mid 1970's. Extensive maintenance and restoration history is included throughout his ownership. This number Matching Series 1.5 coupe is believed to have 57,000 original miles.
British Racing Green with black leather interior is a great color scheme for these streamline coupes. The body was restored & repainted in the original color in 2006 by a specialist. The paint is very presentable and shines beautifully with only a few minor blemished shown in photos. No rust has been found on the body, undercarriage or chassis. Series 1 style headlamp covers were added during the restoration.
The black leather interior is very original and is a testament to the careful use this car received over the years. The dash and switchwork is in excellent condition as are the original seats, center console and rear storage area. All lighting & gauges function properly.
The numbers matching 4.2 engine starts easily with no smoke or unusual noises. It idles smoothly and has great power through the RPM range. Recently upgraded to a very nicely tuned 3-carb setup with polished intake manifold.
The clutch and 4-speed transmission work well to shift this car through the gears with no issues. In 2009 the braking system received a complete rebuild with stainless pistons in the calipers, new braided brake hoses, pads, rotors etc.
This car needs nothing and can be enjoyed right away.
