1966 Chevrolet Chevelle
This is an incredible frame up restoration of a classic '66 Chevelle done by a builder that is incredibly meticulous. He leaves nothing left to be done to a car but turn the key and go.
The body was taken down to bare metal and all rust, dings or imperfections were repaired properly, prior to applying a show quality finish of DuPont Viper Blue with pearl and flake. This car glistens under the sun, lights...even the moon. All of the windows were replaced along with the weatherstripping. The window trim is all original but cleaned and polished to like new. All of the bumper and grill brackets are new to go along with all of the chrome which was professionally redone to better than factory standards. The undercarriage was completely stripped and professionally repainted. All of the components are also new so the vehicle looks as good from underneath as it does from the top.
The power to the car comes from a 383 cubic inch stroker motor that has been built, balanced and blueprinted by Bow Tie Performance here in Washington. The car was recently dyno-tested to just under 400 horsepower. It and almost all components are done in either stainless steel or chrome inside a very clean and painted engine compartment. Custom Doug's headers connect to a 2 1/2 inch Magnaflow dual exhaust. The power gets to the ground through a 4-speed, close ratio M20 Muncie transmission with Hurst shifter that was professionally built by Superior here in Seattle, and the drive line has also been balanced. The rear-end is a 10-bolt Eaton with posi-traction encased in a chrome housing cover. The gas tank is brand new and there are new high intensity beam headlights guiding the way after dark.
The suspension and all of its components are truly a thing of beauty on this Chevelle. It sports a brand new Hotchkiss TVS suspension system that is second to none. This car handles better than some that you would buy brand new off of the lot. The sway bars that are installed could allow a Mack truck to turn on a dime! The car has 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes attached to all new components. The car sits just right on top of 18? custom-ordered Foose Wheels and Extreme Contact tires by Continental.
The interior is essentially brand new and looks absolutely incredible. The headliner has been replaced and fits just as it is supposed to, as does the dash and carpeting. The bucket seats are from a Chevelle SS interior with and original center console with shift package...also from an SS. It is not a reproduction. It has a Flame River tilt steering wheel and a full set of gauges, including the tachometer built into the console. A very nice Retro Sound system has been installed with 5 speakers that were professionally installed and integrated. It is set-up for use with all smartphones and has a USB hookup.
This car has to be seen and heard in person as it is even more impressive than in pictures.
